Another Friday, another bag of Audiosurf 2 candy! This is a skin I did to show two really powerful skinning techniques added to the game this week. The first is morphing. Now skins can include morph targets for meshes to make them animate with the music! The other is mesh tracks.
This one is easy.Go to Audiosurf 2's folder in Steam's files (you can go to the game's properties from your steam library, go to local files, and hit 'Browse Local Files' to do this). Go into either 'skins' or 'mods' (doesn't matter which one you pick) and make a new folder in it. Name it whatever you want. Next, copy all the contents from another folder (I recommend using one of the default ones rather than cloning someone's custom mod) and paste it into yours. Rename the mod/skin.lua name to yourfoldername.lua.Boot up the game and go into either the skin or mods selection and find your folder name. There should be an arrow on the thumbnail of it. Click it and it will upload it to the workshop.
That should give you the achievement. If you don't want your mod in the workshop, you can delete it from its workshop page (you'll still have the achievement if you do this).

By blending gameplay with music visualization, Audiosurf puts you inside your music in a way nothing else can. Use your own music to create your own experience. The shape, the speed, and the mood of each ride is determined by the song you choose.
What are the biggest improvements from Audiosurf 1?
Ever-expanding new ways to play with over 500 and counting player-created mods and skins on Workshop. Additional layers of strategy tied to the song’s biggest moments. In-game leaderboards let you compare your score moment to moment against your friends and rivals even when they’re not online. Enhanced graphics quality. Ability to search for music. Available on Mac and Linux!
What’s new about Mono mode in Audiosurf 2?
In Audiosurf 2 your timing in mono mode is more important than ever. Shenmue 3 kickstarter. You’ve got to strategize to get your grid full at the most intense moments of songs to get the most points. Look ahead in the distance for corkscrew loops with powerups to know when these moments will occur.
What do I get in the demo?
The demo allows players to play any song they want, for their first 3 songs. After that, they can play the Song of the Day, everyday, as many times as they want.
Is there a mode that focuses on dodging blocks?
Yes, there’s a new Ninja mode. It has a big bonus for hitting no spikes and creates intense spike fields to weave through. It’s faster than regular Mono and the second-to-second challenge of avoiding spikes is harder. For even more challenge there’s ninja turbo. It’s too fast for you.
What’s new about the Puzzle modes in Audiosurf 2:
Just as with Mono mode, your timing on Puzzle modes is now more important than ever. Push, Shuffle, Erase, or Scoop blocks at the just the right moments to take full advantage of multiplier powerups that come at the most intense moments of songs.
Audiosurf 2 Review
Beyond any shadow of the slightest doubt, Audiosurf 2 is a notable improvement over its predecessor. Improvements include graphics and visuals, user-interface, game-modes and variation and most notably the addition of support for Steam Workshop, in which players can create and share custom skins, gamemodes and tracks. Thus adding a huge community factor to the game.
The developers have looked over the different gamemodes in the previous Audiosurf and have either made improvements to them or removed the brain-dead and redundant modes. Mono mode is much more challenging this time around for example.
There is also the addition of a more active leaderboard system, allowing the player to compare scores with record holders as they progress through their chosen song. It is a viable option for players seeking a more competitive challenge but at the same time is unintrusive for those wanting a casual time-killer. Similar to Audiosurf; Audiosurf 2 is a quick-loading, easy-to-pick-up indy game perfect for killing time.

Despite its organisational problems, I’d still play Audiosurf 2 over the original in a heartbeat. The representation of the music is just so much more alive than it was before – these courses absolutely buzz with life and energy. Audiosurf 2’s core mode is still thoroughly compelling, and it represents a fantastically immersive and nearly endless way to interact with music you love.- Fun
